Landing in Paris

One place that I have always wanted to visit is Paris, France. My best friend Hannah and I have always shared a passion for traveling and we both agree that Paris is one of our top 3 places to visit. I think that part of me would like to visit France because as a young girl, I loved the movie "Madeline" which took place in France. I am a very big fan of fashion and shopping which is another reason I wish to visit this wonderful country. They are home to the top fashion designers and fashion shows in the world.

The Eiffel Tower, a symbolic landmark of Paris.

Madeline, was my favorite movie as a young girl that took place in Paris.

Island Time

When I was ten years old,  my family of six took a nine day vacation to the Caribbean. We chartered a boat which we stayed on during our time there. The neat part about staying on a boat was that my dad could drive the boat to whatever part of the Caribbean we felt like staying in. We went to Tortola, St. John and a lot of places in between that could only be accessed by boat. We got to see both the US and the British Virgin Islands. It was a great experience because I got the most out of the area.

TIP: If possible, when traveling the Caribbean, do a lot of your travels on a boat. You get to see more of the area and it saves money.

Cane Garden Bay was my favorite place of all the places that my family traveled. The beach was beautiful and I got my hair braided on the beach which was one of my goals going into that trip.

This is a picture of me and my 3 siblings snorkeling off the beach in St. John.

This is a picture of me and my mom on the bow of the boat that we stayed on.

Now landing in Italy

Italy Is somewhere that I have always dreamed of going. The scenery and vibrant culture has always sparked my interest. This is another one of my mom's top places that she traveled too which I have heard many stories about. I am thinking of spending my semester abroad in Italy.

When I do eventually go to Italy, this is one of the things I would love to do. This is a video of a Gondola ride going through Venice, Italy.

Yum Yum! Italian food is by far my favorite of all the types of food. I love pasta the most. I am very excited to one day taste the food in Italy! I also really enjoy meatballs and Alfredo sauce. Last but certainly not least I can't wait to eat the Pizza in Italy! I'm sure it is very different than the dominoes we have here in the states.

Spring break in the middle of Arkansas

I recently returned from a 4 day trip to Arkansas. I went to visit my step- sister who is a freshman at Hendrix college. Hendrix is located in Conway Arkansas which is a small county about 30 mins from the capital, Little Rock. I learned a lot of things when I was in Arkansas, first off I found it amusing how I was called a "Yankee" because I am from the North. Everyone I was surrounded by had very thick accents and used different phrases and words than I am a custom to. I noticed right away how friendly and polite the people in the south really are. I can't wait to go back again!

Above is a picture of the Student Center on Campus at Hendrix College.

I ate fried pickles on St. Patrick's day when we went out to a restaurant. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who has the opportunity to eat them... I wish we had them up North.

Me, my brother and my sister on St. Patrick's day. People don't really celebrate it Arkansas,(not as much as we do in New England anyway) but we still wore green and had our fun!

First stop, Greece!

Ever since I was a young child, I have always wanted to go to Greece. The views are unbelievable in pictures and I can only imagine what they would look like in person. My parents went on their honeymoon there and my mom refers to it constantly when talking about her favorite travel locations.
Something that has drawn my desire to go to Greece is the white buildings and magnificent architecture. The coastal location is ideal especially coming from the ocean state
One of my favorite movies  "The sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" is filmed partially in Greece and truly gave me a feel for how the lifestyle is there. In the movie, they show Donkey's carrying baggage and people up and down stairs which I found very interesting and unique.

In Athens lies The Acropolis. The ruins is easily Greece's most famous landmark, remains as a display of the longevity of Greek civilization and a tribute to Greek architecture

Where Have I been?

Throughout my life so far, I have not traveled to nearly as many places as I would like to. I have been to many places in the US primarily on the east coast. Rhode Island is where I am from, but I have also been to Mass, Vermont, New Hampshire (Obviously), Maine, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, DC, and Florida. In additions to the states that I have seen in the US, I have also been to the British Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and the Bahamas. All of the places that I have been to outside of the country all have one thing in common, they are warm and tropical. My list will be growing over spring break as I head down to Little Rock, Arkansas to visit my step-sister who is currently a freshman at Hendrix college.

My roots for traveling

My mother was a flight attendant at continental airlines for 10 years and was able to see more of the world than the normal human eye. Back in the 1990's, the perks of working on an airline meant being able to wait stand by for any flight you wanted, and if there was enough room, you were getting on it last minute. Another perk, was first class seating which my older sister got a bit to comfortable with. Not only was it a perk to fly first class, but to just hop on a plane to Hawaii for the weekend, or to just go to Switzerland to pick up some chocolate for somebody's birthday present is also pretty cool. Over the years I have heard endless stories about what benefits she got from the places she traveled. Sharing the same passion as her, I plan to travel a lot more in my future.
